About
WHAT IS LA BELLE EPOQ
Imagine if you could support Van Gogh, Matisse or Picasso while they were struggling for a living while creating their magnificent art.
Inspired by those giants Masters from the Belle Epoque, we promote a handful of world-class mysterious and incognito artists allowing them to thrive with the support of our huge Online community.

Our journey started some years ago with the encounter of a tremendously subtle and versatile “A.P.” in his art studio somewhere in France 🇫🇷
We have been touched by his 🖼 paintings' poetry, nostalgia and profoundness. His art is rich, different, so attractive in its essence and 💃 dancing rhythms, the paint laid down with such a graceful yet fragile finesse.
History
The Belle Epoque, also known as the "Beautiful Era," was a retrospective chronograph designating the period of great cultural and artistic flourishing in Europe somewhere between 1871 and 1914. It was a time of great prosperity and optimism, marked by advances in technology, science, and the arts, as well as the emergence of new social and cultural movements.
La Belle Epoq Art Community aims to reignite this optimism, giving an opportunity for new, incredible talent to emerge and trigger a New Art Renaissance.

The Impressionists such as Auguste Renoir and Claude Monet opened the way in 1874 by studying the variation of colours as a function of light.
Other painters continued opening up new avenues of techniques as Gauguin who juxtaposed flat areas of bright colours oversimplifying the layout to bring out the authenticity of the scenes.

Cézanne and Van Gogh accentuated these trends by experimenting with very striking colours thus making Cézanne the forerunner of the cubism.

The vision of reality became exploded then, it broke down all forms, restructured them through the cube, the sphere and the cylinder according to intellectual conceptions by Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque or Juan Gris who mastered this trend.

It was then the Russians who explored the possibilities of squarely rejecting reality.
Malévitch used colours as the unique way of expressing his thought and founded suprematism which embodied a profoundly anti-materialist and anti-utilitarian philosophy.
Kandinsky in 1910 eliminated all figurative representation, giving a "graphic representation of a state of mind" to forms and colours thus founding abstract art.
